Logitech’s Pop is a pyhsical button for your smarthome

The Logitech Pop is a simple, smart home button for the whole family. The button works a lot like a light switch bringing the smart home into the physical world and making it easy for everyone to control the lights or other smart devices in the home.

The Logitech Pop is a small rubbery button that can stick to just about anywhere, and connects to Wifi over an exclusive Pop bridge. The device scans your Wi-Fi for supported gadgets automatically, but it also works with the Harmony Hub. Then with the pop, you can quick press, a double press, and a long press to activate different recipes.

The idea of adding a physical button around the house for smart lights or other devices aren’t crazy, but at the same time defeats the purpose of smart devices in my opinion. At the same time, when you don’t have a phone readily available or people without access to your devices are around a physical button makes it easy to control still.

Pre-orders for the Logitech Pop are being taken now, and you should see the device later this month.  The starter pack for is $99.99, which includes two Pop switches, a bridge connector, and mounting tape. You can also order additional switches for $39.99 each.
